Emails Caught in Spam/Quarantine
You may get an email from 'quarantine@messaging.microsoft.com' with the subject line "Spam Notification: X New Messages" where 'X' is the amount of emails that were sent to quarantine. This email is not a phishing or spam email as it is an official email from Office 365 notifying you of any emails that were sent to quarantine. One important thing to note is that emails that have been sent to quarantine will only be there for 30 days. After 30 days, the email is permanently deleted from quarantine.
Here is an example of what the email looks like:
Within the email, it gives you three options: Block Sender, Release, or Review.
Block Sender: Clicking on 'Block Sender' will add the sender to our Office 365 email block list.
Release: Clicking on 'Release' will release the email from quarantine and send it to your inbox.
Review: Clicking on 'Review' will open the Office 365 quarantine portal on your web browser. You will be able to see more details regarding the email such as when the email is automatically deleted from quarantine (Expires) and if the email has been released to anyone else or not. If after reading the quarantined email details and you can confirm it was sent to quarantine by mistake, click on 'Release email' at the top. The email will be sent to your inbox.
